Eighteen Years, Two Generations, One Truck at a Time

Family owned and operated. Licensed in Minnesota, and now running Maple Grove and the north metro.

Chuck

Chuck Robinson is a certified plumber, and he started this company 18 years ago. He learned the trade the long way — on job sites, under other people's sinks, taking direction from men who'd been doing it for thirty years before he showed up. He was a plumber for a good while before he was ever a business owner, and that order matters. Nobody handed him a franchise packet.

The company grew the slow way too: one repeat customer at a time. It's the kind of shop where people call and ask for Chuck by name because he fixed their mother's water heater six years ago and she still talks about it. He'll tell you that's the only marketing that ever really worked.

He still runs calls. Not "stops by the job site" — runs calls, with his own tools, on ordinary Tuesdays. An owner who still turns a wrench is not common anymore, and we think it's worth saying out loud.

Chip

Chuck's son Chip is his partner now. Chip grew up handing his dad tools in other people's basements, which is a particular kind of training you can't get any other way. You learn what a bad joint looks like before you know the word for it. You learn how to talk to somebody standing in two inches of water on their own floor.

Two generations on the same crew means the person who shows up at your house has something at stake past a paycheck. His name is on the truck. That tends to change how carefully a guy cleans up after himself.

What family-owned actually means here

It's a phrase every outfit uses, so here's what it actually buys you with us.

The person who answers the phone can make a decision. No transferring, no "let me check with the office," no ticket number. Nobody here is paid on commission, so nobody has a reason to sell you a system you don't need. If the work isn't right, you call the owner — not a service department in another state that closes at five.

And we'd rather tell you your water heater has three good years left than sell you one today. That's not charity. That's how you get the call in three years, and the one after that, and the one where your neighbor asks who you use.

Now licensed for Maple Grove and the north metro

We're proud to be fully licensed to work Maple Grove and the communities around it, out to 50 miles, homes and businesses both. It's a newer market for us — 18 years of plumbing behind the company, and this part of the metro is where we're putting it now. We'd rather earn the local claim with what we know than by saying it louder.

This is hard-water country. The City's own water report puts Maple Grove at 19 to 22 grains per gallon, and the report says outright that most homes here end up putting in a softener. Osseo drinks the same water — they buy it from Maple Grove — and so do Corcoran and part of Dayton. It's why we see so many water heaters that quit early up here. Out past Corcoran and Greenfield you're on well and septic, which is a different animal entirely. And come January, when the frost is down twenty inches and somebody's got a hose bib that split behind the siding, we know the drill.

We run Bottineau Boulevard — County Road 81 — most days. North of 610 is a good chunk of the work. We know which parts of town are 1990s copper and which went up later on PEX, and we know which builders used which fixtures, because we've been taking them apart.

Our truck runs the north and west metro most days — stocked with the parts that fix the calls we get.

How we work

  • A person answers the phone.
  • You get the price before we start.
  • We pull the permit. The City of Maple Grove says contractors should apply for their own, and we do.
  • If something goes sideways, you call the owner.

Licensed, bonded and insured in Minnesota.
