Drain Cleaning in Maple Grove, MN
Most clogs are one fixture and a cable clears them the same visit. When several drains slow down at once, the problem is the main line, not the sink. We clear it, then tell you what caused it — grease, hair, wipes, or roots — so you're not calling us again in six weeks.
Signs you need this
- One sink, tub or laundry drain running slow
- The toilet gurgles when the washing machine drains — that's the main line talking, not the toilet
- Water comes up the floor drain when someone showers
- A smell from a drain that never quite goes away
- More than one fixture backing up at the same time
What we actually do
- Cable (snake) the line — right for hair, grease and most single-fixture clogs
- Hydro jetting when the pipe wall is coated in grease or scale and a cable just punches a hole through it
- Camera inspection on repeat main-line clogs, so you're deciding with a picture instead of a guess
- Pull and reset a toilet when the clog is in the trap and cabling from above won't reach
- Tell you honestly when the clog is a symptom of a sewer line problem instead of selling you another cleaning

What's different about this work up here
Root intrusion is an older-city story here — Minneapolis, Robbinsdale, Crystal, Osseo, Anoka, where laterals are clay or cast iron and mature trees sit right over them. Maple Grove is a post-1970 city, so what we pull out of drains here is usually kitchen grease, wipes that said flushable, and hair.
One local wrinkle: hard water. At 19 to 22 grains, scale builds inside older galvanized branch lines and narrows them, and a cable can only do so much with a pipe that's half its original diameter. That's when jetting or a section of new pipe is the honest answer.
Questions we get
Snaking or hydro jetting — which do I need?
Cabling clears the obstruction. Jetting scours the pipe wall. If the line clogs once, cable it. If it clogs every few months and a camera shows buildup coating the inside, jetting is what actually fixes it.
Are chemical drain openers worth trying first?
We'd skip them. They rarely clear a full blockage, they sit in the trap, and they make the job hotter and more dangerous for whoever opens that pipe next.
My washer drains and the toilet burbles. What is that?
Air being pushed past a partial blockage in the main line. Two fixtures reacting to one another almost always means the shared line downstream, not either fixture.
Do you camera every line?
No. A first-time kitchen clog doesn't need one. A main line that has backed up twice does.
